Why we chose stainless steel over brass: Brass is the standard base metal for most fashion jewelry, but it has real limitations. Brass contains copper, which oxidizes when it contacts skin, sweat, or moisture. That oxidation is what turns skin green. Brass is also softer than stainless steel, which means it bends, dents, and warps more easily under daily wear.
316L surgical-grade stainless steel is the same alloy used in medical implants and high-end watches. It's significantly harder than brass, holds its shape over years of wear, and is fully inert. It will never oxidize against your skin. No green marks. No allergic reactions. No structural fatigue. The trade-off is cost. Stainless steel is more expensive to source and harder to work with than brass. Most brands choose brass because it's cheaper and easier. We chose stainless steel because it's better for the people wearing it.
