Lifetime Plating Integrity Guarantee

The Varencia Lifetime Plating Integrity Guarantee covers the bonded finish on every full-PVD jewelry piece for the lifetime of original ownership. If your bonded finish ever flakes or peels under normal wear, we will repair the piece, replace it with the same item, or issue store credit at our discretion.

This is our commitment to the durability behind every Varencia piece.

What This Guarantee Covers

The Lifetime Plating Integrity Guarantee applies to Varencia jewelry that uses PVD-bonded 18k gold or 18k rose gold finishes over 316L surgical-grade stainless steel.

We guarantee that the bonded finish will never flake or peel under normal wear conditions, defined below. If it does, we will, at our discretion:

  • Repair the original piece
  • Replace it with the same item
  • Issue store credit if the item is no longer available

What Qualifies as Normal Wear

Normal wear includes the everyday activities Varencia jewelry is designed for:

  • Showering and bathing
  • Hand washing
  • Swimming in pools or the ocean
  • Sweating during exercise or warm weather
  • Day-to-day movement and contact with skin, clothing, and soft surfaces

What This Guarantee Does Not Cover

This guarantee does not apply to:

  • Damage from abrasion, scratches, dents, or impact
  • Exposure to harsh chemicals including bleach, chlorine concentrates, perfumes applied directly to the piece, lotions, hair products, household cleaners, or solvents
  • Damage from sandblasting, polishing wheels, or other intentional refinishing
  • Damage from extended exposure to saunas, hot tubs, or extreme temperatures
  • Stones that loosen or fall out, which are covered separately under the Manufacturing Defect policy on the Returns page
  • Pieces that have been altered, repaired, or worked on by anyone other than Varencia
  • Lost or stolen jewelry
  • Damage caused by misuse, accidents, or improper storage

Two-Tone and Partial-PVD Pieces

Varencia offers some jewelry pieces that combine PVD-bonded elements with bare polished stainless steel elements within a single design (Two-Tone pieces and other partial-PVD designs). For these pieces, the Lifetime Plating Integrity Guarantee covers the PVD-bonded portion only. The bare polished stainless steel elements are not subject to the bonded-finish guarantee, because they have no plating to fail.

This does not mean the bare stainless elements are unreliable. 316L surgical-grade stainless steel is corrosion-resistant, hypoallergenic, and built to last on its own. It simply does not have a bonded finish that can flake or peel, so it falls outside the scope of this specific guarantee. Manufacturing defects on any portion of any Varencia piece remain covered under our standard return policy.

Sterling Silver Pieces

Sterling silver pieces are not covered under the Lifetime Plating Integrity Guarantee, as they are precious metal rather than bonded plating. Sterling silver pieces are covered for manufacturing defects under our standard return policy.

Patina, oxidation, and natural changes in sterling silver over time are normal characteristics of the metal and are not considered defects.

How to File a Claim

To file a claim under the Lifetime Plating Integrity Guarantee, email support@varencia.com with the subject line "Lifetime Guarantee Claim" and include:

  • Your order number or proof of purchase
  • The piece in question
  • Clear photographs showing the flaking or peeling
  • A brief description of how the piece was worn

Our team will review your claim and respond within five business days. If approved, we will provide return instructions or arrange a direct resolution at our discretion.

Time Limits and Eligibility

This guarantee covers the lifetime of original ownership. The piece must have been purchased directly from Varencia at varencia.com. Proof of purchase is required for all claims.

Transferability

This guarantee is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser.

Changes to This Guarantee

Varencia reserves the right to update or modify the terms of this guarantee at any time. Changes will not affect pieces purchased before the change date. The guarantee is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser. If you are giving Varencia jewelry as a gift, the recipient does not inherit the guarantee. The recipient is still welcome to contact us with any concerns, and we will help where we can.

Are Two-Tone pieces fully covered?

Two-Tone and partial-PVD pieces include both PVD-bonded elements and bare polished stainless steel elements. The guarantee covers the PVD-bonded portion only. The bare stainless steel portion has no plating to fail and is not subject to the bonded-finish guarantee, but it remains covered under our standard return policy for manufacturing defects.

Does showering or swimming void the guarantee?

No. Varencia jewelry is designed for everyday wear, including showering, swimming, and sweating. These are explicitly part of normal wear, and exposure to water alone does not affect coverage.

Are sterling silver pieces covered?

Sterling silver pieces are not covered under the Lifetime Plating Integrity Guarantee, as they are precious metal rather than bonded plating. Sterling silver is covered for manufacturing defects under our standard return policy. Natural patina and oxidation in sterling silver are normal characteristics of the metal and are not considered defects.

How do I file a claim?

What if the piece I am replacing is no longer available?

If the original piece is no longer available, we will issue store credit equal to the value of the piece at the time of original purchase. Store credit can be used toward any current Varencia piece.
