How do I find my ring size?

There are three reliable ways to find your ring size at home. The most accurate method is to download our printable ring sizer PDF, print it at 100% scale, and place an existing ring over the size circles. You can also measure the inner diameter of an existing ring with a ruler, or use the paper strip method to measure the circumference of your finger.

What size necklace is most popular?

Our most popular necklace length is 18 inches, which falls just below the collarbone. This length works well for most necklines and layers easily with shorter 16 inch chains and longer 20 inch or 22 inch chains.

How do I measure my wrist for a bracelet?

Wrap a flexible measuring tape or a strip of paper around your wrist just below the wrist bone. If using paper, mark where the strip overlaps and measure the length. Add half an inch for a snug fit or up to one inch for a more relaxed fit.

What if I am between ring sizes?

If you are between two ring sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size. Fingers swell slightly throughout the day, especially in warm weather, and a ring that is slightly loose is more comfortable to wear than one that is too tight.

Ring Sizing

There are two ways to find your ring size at home.

Method 1: Use our printable ring sizer.

Download the Varencia Ring Sizer (PDF). Print at 100% / Actual Size, then use either the printed circles to match an existing ring or the cut-out paper strip to measure your finger directly. Full instructions are on the printable.

Method 2: Measure with a string.

Wrap a piece of string or thin paper around the base of your finger.
Mark where the ends meet.
Measure the marked length in millimeters. This is your finger's circumference.
Find your circumference in the chart below to determine your size.

Tips for accurate sizing:

Measure at the end of the day. Fingers swell slightly through the day, especially in warm weather.
Measure two or three times for accuracy.
If you fall between two sizes, choose the larger.
If your knuckle is wider than the base of your finger, size for the knuckle.

Bracelet Sizing

To find your bracelet size, measure the circumference of your wrist.

Wrap a piece of string or measuring tape around your wrist, just below the wrist bone (the bone that protrudes on the outside of your wrist).
Mark where the ends meet.
Measure the marked length in inches.
Add 0.5 inches for a closer fit, or 0.75 to 1.0 inches for a relaxed fit.

Necklace Sizing

Necklace lengths describe where the chain sits on the body. The most common lengths are 16, 18, 20, and 22 inches. The diagram below shows where each length falls on an average frame.

14" Collar: Sits high on the neck, just below the throat.
16" Choker: Sits at the base of the neck.
18" Princess: The most popular length. Sits at or just below the collarbone.
20" Matinee: Sits between the collarbone and the bust.
22" Long: Sits at the bust line.
24" Opera: Sits below the bust.

Frequently Asked Sizing Questions

What if I'm between two ring sizes?

Choose the larger size. Rings that are slightly loose are more comfortable than rings that are too tight, and a slightly loose ring can be sized down by a jeweler more easily than a tight ring can be sized up.

Which finger should I size for?

Size for the specific finger you will wear the ring on. Fingers vary in width, especially between dominant and non-dominant hands. If you plan to wear the ring on more than one finger, size for the largest one.

How do I know if a necklace will look right with my clothes?

For higher necklines and turtlenecks, choose 22 inches or longer so the necklace sits visibly outside your collar. For V-necks and scoop necks, 18 to 20 inches sits in the open neckline. For crew necks and most everyday tops, 18 inches is the most versatile choice.

What if my wrist is wider than my hand?

Bracelet sizing is based on wrist circumference, not hand width. Measure your wrist where the bracelet will sit (just below the wrist bone) and add 0.5 to 1.0 inches for comfort.
